TEACHING AND LEARNING

As the semester comes to a close, it's a wonderful time to reflect and celebrate the incredible growth our students have achieved. Throughout the term, they have worked hard, taken on challenges and developed their skills. Now it’s time to showcase that progress!
Each of our Year 3/4 students has selected a piece from their portfolio that they are especially proud of. These selections represent their dedication, creativity, and perseverance.
Well done to all our students for their amazing efforts and accomplishments!

Exploring Biodiversity in Year 3/4
In Integrated Studies, our Year 3/4 students have been diving into the fascinating world of Biodiversity. They've been exploring how animals adapt to their environments and how these adaptations help them survive and thrive in their natural habitats.
To bring their learning to life, students are working on an exciting diorama project. Each student has chosen an animal to research, focusing on its unique features, behaviors, and the ecosystem it calls home. They've used this new knowledge to design and build creative dioramas that represent the animal's habitat and showcase the adaptations that support its survival.
It's been wonderful to see students so engaged, combining their research skills, creativity, and scientific understanding to share what they’ve learned in such an imaginative way.
Synthesising with Meerkats – Year 1/2 Reading
In Reading, our enthusiastic Year 1/2 students have been developing their synthesising skills. Students have been learning how to combine new information with what they already know and reflect on how their thinking has changed. This week, they explored a wonderful informative text all about meerkats.
As they read, students gathered interesting facts, asked questions, and made connections to build a deeper understanding of these fascinating creatures. To celebrate their new learning, they finished the week by creating their own meerkats.
Well done to all our curious readers and clever creators!
Numeracy
In Prep, students have continued to develop their number sense. They have been learning to read, write and order numbers from 0-100. They have also been learning strategies for addition and subtraction such as Friends of 10, doubles, counting all and counting on. It is amazing how quickly these little learners have grown their Numeracy knowledge.
