RoboCup Competition

RoboCup Regional Competition Expert Robotics
This year, BEPS had 14 Year 5 and 6 students competing at the RoboCup Regional Competition at Genazzano College on Saturday, 26th July.
Mighty Maisy Rescue Maze:
Tankers- Yucheng, Adrian, Sathvik
It was a fun and good experience to compete with other teams from different schools. We learned that you must work together effectively to win.
Commanders- Kai, Hayden
It was an amazing experience to collaborate with other people who were competing with us. We learnt about trouble shooting and, even though our robot had some issues, other groups were still willing to help us. It was a fun experience of learning.
Discoverers- Insiya, Aarya, Alejandra, Tina, Olivia
It was a very fun experience at the RoboCup Competition. We learnt that teamwork is vital to be successful in the future. Our next step is to work on our code so it turns in different directions.
Simple Simon Soccer:
Defenders- Ethan, Georgios
It was a fun experience for us both on the day. We learnt that the fact that we could not use directional functions made a big impact. We scored many own goals, but we drew one game, and we are very proud of our efforts and hope to improve next year :).
OnStage:
SeaBots- Kira, Ananya
It was an exciting day for us although we were very nervous. We enjoyed the entire process of creating our robots, coding it to dance and making the background. We did really well on the day, and even though we were rushed we still managed to try our best. At the end of the day, we found out we came 1st in the Novice Open Stage competition. We were so happy to win and get our medalse hope to improve next year.
Thank you to Harrison, Teri, Edwina, Luke and Steph who gave up their time to help support all of the students. Additionally, thank you to Penny, Deepika, Tadewanashe for volunteering to help run the different challenges and all the other parents for coming and supporting the students throughout the day.
