5/6 CLASSROOM

It’s been a very busy time in Grade 5/6 with lots of assessments taking place. Well done to all students who have applied themselves and worked hard to show their learning — we’re really proud of the effort you’ve put in!

We’ve also enjoyed reading some fantastic camp recounts. It’s been wonderful to hear about your favourite moments and memories from camp.

Our Student SRC reps have been doing a great job discussing important information and ideas with younger students across the school, showing great leadership and responsibility.

In Ochre English, we’ve started reading Waves, a beautiful narrative nonfiction text about the waves of migration to Australia over time. The students are already making thoughtful connections to the stories shared in the book.

In Ochre Maths, we’ve been working on decimals — learning how to represent them in different ways and round them to whole numbers. It’s been a tricky concept, but students have shown excellent perseverance and a positive attitude towards their learning.

Across our Biological Sciences unit, students have been exploring life cycles of plants and animals, comparing their similarities and differences. The detail and care they’ve put into their work has been outstanding — they should all be very proud!

Well done, Grade 5/6!
