3/4 CLASSROOM

This fortnight in the grade 3/4 room we have set ourselves a goal of completing 100 multiplication homework sheets as a class. If we reach this goal Mrs Cummins and Mrs Brook have agreed to host a class party! The grade 3/4 students are very motivated by this and have been working hard to get their homework done.

In English we have been reading Finding our Heart by Thomas Mayo. Finding Our Heart is a beautiful book that helps explore the meaning and importance of the Uluru Statement from the Heart. The book is a powerful tool for introducing children to concepts like fairness, truth-telling, Indigenous culture, and reconciliation in Australia. We have had many interesting and open conversations in the classroom which has been very positive to see.

In Religion we have started looking at the sacraments of initiation. We have looked at baptism and how baptism is a way to be welcomed into the church family. We have explored how just like our families having traditions and rights of passages the church also has these through the sacraments.

In maths we have just covered shape. We explored the different aspects of shapes like faces, edges and vertices. We got our hands on some concrete materials such as playdough and challenged ourselves at making some irregular shapes.
