Parents & Citizens Association (P&C)

Our kids will dig the new sandpit
Over the winter school holidays construction was completed on a new, large sandpit for our kids to dig, play and build in.
The Parents & Citizens Association (P&C) has funded the whole cost of this project, which was raised by Ms Imseih in one of our Tuesday night meetings. The school had identified a need for this type of play space, especially for our younger students, who had taken to digging up the ‘grass’.
This type of project exemplifies the way the P&C can work closely with the school to shape decisions that impact our kids’ learning, wellbeing and the school culture. The funding comes from the pool of resources that we have accumulated through fundraising at BBQs, Mother’s day stalls and managing the canteen and uniform shop. So: thank you to every parent and community member who has contributed at these events in ways big and small.
We are lucky to have a P&C at our school- not every school has one, and ours is run by busy, working parent volunteers just like you. We do it because we care about our kids’ education, we want to be involved in decision making that impacts our kids and because we care about our wider school community.
We invite you to join the P&C so you can vote and have a voice on things that impact your child at our school. We need increased participation on the Executive Committee and in day-to-day volunteering at the canteen. We would like new ideas and fresh perspectives, as our current office holders ‘age out’ of their roles.
Please join us every 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7:30pm during school term in the staffroom or online. Our next meeting is on Tuesday 19th August and I would strongly encourage anyone who would like to contribute to join us. Or, please contact Jemma on 0438 263 402 if you have any questions or would like to volunteer.
