Speak Up! Stay ChatTY! – Shorts Day

On Friday 20 June, St Virgils College proudly celebrated Shorts Day in support for Speak Up! Stay ChatTY!

This event involves our whole Senior College celebrating and supporting Mitch McPherson – SVC Old Virgilian, with his initiative to bring awareness to mental health and wellbeing.

We had a fantastic turnout from both staff and students on the day. Our Year 11/12 students on exam block also showed their support by donning the shorts during their Mid-Semester Examination.

Thank you to all staff and students for the participation, and our SVC community for supporting Speak Up! Stay ChatTY!

Speak Up! Stay ChatTY! – Year 9 Presentations

During week 9, Speak Up! Stay ChatTY! and Relationships Australia have been presenting to our Year 9 cohort on the importance of Mental Health and Wellbeing. The presentation is focused on mental health awareness and suicide prevention. They use real-life examples to reduce stigma and encourage help-seeking.

Our students have loved the opportunity and experience to engage in the topic and bring importance to their own and their mates mental health and wellbeing.

Thank you to Relationships Australia and Speak Up! Stay ChatTY!
