This term, our Year 3 and 4 students have been exploring the exciting world of contact and non-contact forces in Science. To apply their learning in a fun and practical way, students have been busy planning and constructing their very own carnival-style games. Students have shown fantastic teamwork, problem-solving and creativity throughout the process so far. We can't wait to play to the games in the future.
Year 5 and 6 students have started to explore the world of assistive technology. After learning how technology can support people with different needs, students identified a user and began designing their own assistive game controllers to meet that person’s specific abilities. With creativity and empathy at the forefront, students have now started constructing their unique controller designs. Using materials such as cardboard and foil, they’re building devices that will soon connect to Makey Makeys—an invention kit that turns everyday objects into touchpads. Students are looking forward to testing their controllers and using them to play games on the Scratch platform.
Stay curious and keep experimenting!
