At Whittlesea Primary School, we love to celebrate the amazing things our students are doing both at school and outside of school. Emily, in Year 4, has decided for the second year in a row to cut her hair and donate it to 'Wigs for Kids' to support Kids With Cancer. If you would like to help Emily raise funds for this important cause, scan the QR code below.
In last week's Primary Post, we shared that Abel in Foundation has also decided to donate his 'long-locks' of golden hair to 'Wigs for Kids'. Please feel free to scan the QR code and support Abel to help others in their fight against cancer.
What an incredible week our Year 5/6 students had at City Camp! From the moment we arrived in Melbourne, the excitement was non-stop. Students kicked off the adventure with a guided tour of the MCG, stepping behind the scenes of Australia’s most iconic sporting arena.
A visit beneath the Shrine of Remembrance provided a powerful insight into our nation's history. At the same time, a trip to the Melbourne Museum revealed the stories of early Melbourne, showcased incredible dinosaur exhibits, and offered a close-up look at some fascinating insects.
After racking up an impressive 20,000 steps on Monday, students were thrilled to hop on and off a tram – one of Tuesday’s highlights! They then explored the creative and interactive world of ACMI, before soaking up some culture at the National Gallery of Victoria.
Evenings were just as exciting, with bowling and a movie night proving to be absolute hits, giving everyone a chance to relax and bond after big days out. Camp wrapped up with a visit to the Melbourne Zoo.
City Camp was a fantastic opportunity for students to build independence, connect with their peers, and experience Melbourne. A big thank you to our staff and parent helpers for making it all possible!
Congratulations to the 172 students who have already completed the Premier's Reading Challenge—an incredible achievement! Your dedication to reading and commitment to the challenge are truly inspiring. Every student in F-2 has completed the challenge, and with 82 days remaining, there's plenty of time for our Year 3- 6s to dive into their books and join the growing list of successful readers. Keep up the fantastic work, and happy reading!
