Year 12 students in Personal Development Skills (PDS) are currently studying issues in their local community. In order to combat social isolation in aged care, students attended Balmoral Aged Care Home to build connections with residents. The group learnt that a causal chat over tea and cake, paired with a smile can brighten someone's day. Students were able to put real names and faces to the statistics they have studied in class. Students also came away with great life advise to assist them as they embark on their final term of high school. A big thank you to Liz and Jenny from Balmoral for assisting this intergenerational program. Students will return on July 4th for a second visit with their new friend.
Students at WHC are encouraged to ‘Call Out’ poor behaviours they may be exposed to, witness, or hear of in our community.
If you hear something that is not right, or feel uncomfortable in our community, we want to hear from you!
Students are encouraged to email their Year Level address, where concerns will be resolved.

Oliver Jones has claimed his second consecutive WHC Chess title, defeating Amitoz Heer 2–1 in a thrilling final that kept fans on edge until the last move.
The victory marks a stunning continuation of Jones’s comeback, following a much-publicized hiatus from the game. Once stating he had “fallen out of love with the game,” Jones stepped away from chess entirely — only to return with a run that’s drawn comparisons to Bobby Fischer’s legendary resurgence.
Now a back-to-back champion, Jones isn’t just returning — he’s redefining his legacy.
