What's been happening in 3/4......

This term, students in Year 3 / 4 have been doing lots of fun and interesting science experiments, learning about reversible and irreversible change. Last week, we used vinegar, bi-carb soda, balloons and small bottles to watch a change taking place. We put vinegar into the bottle. We carefully put a scoop of bi-carb soda into the ballon. We then had the challenge of attaching the opening of the balloon to the top of the bottle without letting the bi-carb soda fall into the vinegar. When the balloon was secured, then we could let the bi-carb soda fall into the vinegar. 

We watched as the two materials combined to make a GAS and the balloons started to fill up with air! It was amazing, and lots of fun. We really enjoy doing science at school.
