2025 August Census
The Department of Education August Census will be conducted on Friday 1st August. You will receive a Student Information Enrolment Form via email for each of your children here at Fyans Park PS. If you don't receive the email in the next day or so ….. please advise the office as we may not have your current email address on file.
The Student Information Enrolment Form is a way to update your child’s enrolment details. We are particularly looking for any changes to:
- Parent occupation - have you had a change of job and fall under a new occupation classification?
- Parent level of education - have you recently completed a qualification and now hold a different level of education?
- Parent place of birth and language spoken - were these details not included in your original enrolment form?
- Parent email and phone numbers
- Family address updates
- Student medical updates
This information is reported to the Department of Education twice annually in the Census. The amount of funding we receive for our school is calculated considering this data.
It is important that our records are accurate so that we can continue to deliver the high standard of curriculum and various educational activities Fyans Park is renowned for. This education Fyans Park PS provides each year is funded by the DET and voluntary parent contributions.
Circumstances change and we ask for your cooperation in checking over the information and informing us of any changes either by email to Fyans.Park.PS@education.vic.gov.au or returning the printed information by Friday 25 July.
Thank you

Premier’s Reading Challenge 2025
The Premier’s Reading is well underway now, with many students in our school participating.
The challenge is a fun and engaging way to get children and their families involved with reading. It continues into next term, finishing on Friday September 5th.
All students are encouraged to participate in the challenge. It’s a great initiative to support and foster positive reading habits.
Already, students in our school have read close to 1000 books and 20 students have completed the challenge! Well done to those students and to everyone who has begun. We are half way through the challenge now and it is not too late to get involved!
For more information, please visit the Premier’s Reading Challenge website, speak to your child’s class teacher or myself.

Asthma / Allergy / Anaphylaxis Action Plans
If you indicated on your child’s enrolment form that they experience asthma, allergic reaction or anaphylaxis, or they have been diagnosed since then, government legislation requires you to provide us with a current Action Plan (see examples below). Please visit your medical practitioner for an up to date Action Plan and send along to the office.
http://www.allergy.org.au/health-professionals/ascia-plans-action-and-treatment
Please ensure your child has their medication and any other device (eg. spacer) with them to better manage their symptoms. If your medical practitioner has informed you that your child has grown out of their condition, they will need to provide a letter, on the Medical Practice letterhead, to the school stating such.
Thank you for your cooperation.
