AROUND THE SCHOOL

NO HOT LUNCHES IN TERM 2
This is unfortunate, but without the helpers, the same people can't be expected to facilitate this every Friday. We will review again towards the end of term 2 as to whether they can go ahead in term 3. Thank you to the P & F who work tirelessly behind the scenes to get things done.

Big Water Walk
On Monday we held our very first Big Water Walk. Our aim was to raise awareness and raise money for Project Compassion.
It was a very meaningful event where our students got to experience what it would be like to have to walk a long way to carry water home for the day.
Although our buckets were only part filled, it was definitely an eye opener. It's not too late to donate, help us reach our goal.
Scan the QR code and choose your amount. Thanks to all those who already have :)
3-6 HOUSE ATHLETICS
Friday 28th March. The Senior Athletics Day is a much anticipated event. On Friday our students challenged themselves and gave their all to achieve a personal best and points for their house team. It was pleasing to see excellent sportsmanship and hear so much encouragement around the Velodrome. Many of our students were in awe and inspired by what their peers are capable of. A stand out competitor on the day was Harlow in Grade 3. Harlow broke the Under 9s High Jump record and the 200m record. Outstanding!! This record had been held by Eleanor Patterson.
Thank you very much to our parent helpers Alisha Hemming, Emily Perczyk, Bec Carmody, Caz Brown, Kaila Hutchinson, Ange Cook, Andrew Hunnam, Phil Western, Claire Vagg, Ashlee Clark, Catherine Wilson, Anthony White and Kate Browne.
The winning house, age champions and medallion winners will be announced at a special assembly on the morning of Wednesday 23rd April. Parents of award winners will be notified by email.
Gr 3 RETREAT
On Monday, the Grade 3 students from St Laurence and St Josephs Korumburra attended a Reconciliation workshop at Mary Mackillop. The day was organised and run by Year 11 students from the Ministry class.
The students got to participate in a range of activities and worked collaboratively to facilitate their own liturgy based on the story of the prodigal son.
"I loved doing the dancing and handpainting" Leila.
"My favourite thing was doing the liturgy, I liked singing the song" George.
