Musical Joke of the Week
What is a robot’s favourite type of music?..
Heavy Metal!
Thank you to Paddy Doyle in 4S for sharing this with us
How lucky we are to once again be able to offer a Performing Arts program here at Sacred Heart! It has been such a pleasure to jump into this new role and spend time getting to know all our students across the school and ignite a passion for all things musical and theatrical so far this year.
This year, I have been very fortunate to be working alongside Senorina Cardamone to pair our performing arts program with our language program.
Grazie Senorina!
This term, in our Music units, students will be exploring, experimenting and learning to make sound with various instruments. We have blown the dust off our school instruments and have been learning all about different types of instruments and their families. Woodwind, Strings, Percussion and Brass, just to name a few.
Our instrument of the week is the Glockenspiel!
The Glockenspiel is a percussion instrument made of pitched metal bars arranged in a keyboard layout.
Senior Choir
This year we are also aiming to revive a senior school choir, and we have had many students from Year 4 – 6 attending weekly lunchtime rehearsals and practises. I thank the students who have been attending and practising with us so far this year for their support and enthusiasm. Our hope is to continue to build and grow our school choir so we can attend and perform at community and local events in the future.
Singing, dancing and signing off!
