Kai Fella Workshops
This week, all students and staff at the College participated in Kai Fella Workshops, facilitated by the Kai Fella Foundation. These engaging and age-appropriate sessions were designed to challenge stereotypes, amplify voices and promote personal development.
The workshop encouraged participants to think critically, build confidence and develop respectful relationships. With a strong focus on social awareness and individual growth, the program provided a meaningful opportunity for reflection on values, attitudes and behaviours in a supportive environment.
We believe these sessions have been a valuable and thought-provoking experience for all year levels and staff, helping to foster a more inclusive, respectful and empowered school community.
Jewellery Policy Reminder – Safety, Readiness and Respect
We are currently seeing a high number of students not adhering to our College’s jewellery policy. This is a growing concern, particularly for staff who are repeatedly having to follow up with the same students. It is essential that all students comply with the guidelines – not only for their own safety, especially in Farm and Trades environments, but also to ensure they are workplace-ready and upholding the strong image and reputation of our College in the community.
As part of a whole-school approach, we are implementing a "reset" and reminding all students of the expectations:
Farm & Trades Settings:
Maximum of two stud earrings.
No necklaces or bracelets.
One stud nose piercing permitted.
Watches must be able to break away easily if caught.
Classroom Settings:
Up to two stud or sleeper earrings per ear.
Necklaces must be discrete.
One bracelet per arm.
One watch.
One ring per hand.
Consequences for not following the policy:
Jewellery will be confiscated and held in Admin.
Items will be returned at the end of the day.
Repeat offences will result in progressive consequences:
After 3 incidents = 1 week Loss of Good Standing.
Further breaches = 2 weeks Loss of Good Standing, then 3 weeks.
We appreciate your support in reinforcing these expectations at home.
