ANZAC DAY- special assembly

April 25th marks the date on which a major military campaign took place at Gallipoli, Turkey, during the First World War in 1915. It has become a day of national significance in both Australia and New Zealand and, on this date, we take time to remember the many thousands of Australians and New Zealanders "who have served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations" in the defence of their country.

The importance of this day will be discussed with students at an assembly that will be held on Thursday 24th April starting at 2.50pm.

This commemorative assembly will incorporate elements of a traditional ANZAC Day service including:

- a description of the significance of this date to all Australians

- lowering of our flag to half-mast on the flagpole

- reading of ‘The Ode’

- playing of ‘The Last Post’

- laying a wreath on behalf of the school community

Please note: If any other students would like to bring along their own flowers to participate in this part of the Assembly, they are most welcome to do so.

A minute of silence will then be held by all staff, students & visitors - as a sign of respect.

Parents are very welcome to attend this commemorative assembly.

Please use the side gates to enter the school.

SSB Important Reminder - Please Action if you wish to use any portion of the $400 School Saving Bonus on school activities.

If you wish to use any portion of the $400 SSB on school activities (including excursions or camps) please note that you must go into the SSB Portal and allocate the money to “Activities”. You are not selecting a specific activity at this stage, rather an amount you wish to have available to use at the school. We cannot allocate SSB money to any school activities unless you have reallocated the funds in the SSB Portal beforehand.

This must be done by each individual family using their secure SSB Portal login details. The SSB Portal is integrated with the school system and this allocation is required to allow the school to use the funds on your behalf.

The SSB Portal works in $50 increments.
