Level 6

We're a great mix in Level 6!

We’ve had a fantastic start to Term 2 in Level 6! Our students have returned full of energy and enthusiasm, especially as we dive into rehearsals for our much-anticipated production. It is going to be a busy and exciting term!

Reading

In Reading, we’ve been exploring images and characters in picture story books. Using the ‘Name, Describe, Act’ thinking routine, students have closely analysed illustrations and character traits. We’ve also used graphic organisers to compare and contrast protagonists and antagonists across different texts, deepening our understanding of character development.

Writing

Our poetry unit has begun with a focus on figurative language. Students have been experimenting with similes and metaphors to create expressive and imaginative poems. The creativity in their writing has been impressive!

Maths

So far this term, our Maths focus has been multiplication and division. Students have been learning and applying various strategies, such as the lattice and box methods for multiplication. They have also explored divisibility rules, such as how a number is divisible by 3 if the sum of its digits is divisible by 3, to enhance their number sense.
