Shop For Your School
We are very excited to announce that Mullum Primary School came second in the Shop for Your Schools competition and have received $4000 to put towards the purchase of new reading material for Grades 3-6 and maths resources for all classrooms. We would like to thank all of our families, and their extended families, who ensured we were in the running for a major prize, for all the time spent uploading receipts. We would also like to thank Eastland for their support of local primary schools in Maroondah.
Easter Raffle
A huge thank you to the parent community and Parents' Association for a successful Easter Raffle. We had thirteen wonderful prizes to raffle off due to the generous donations of everyone in the school. Ticket sales raised $1635 for the school. Congratulations to Nick (5/6Y) for taking out the first prize.
ANZAC Day Dawn Service
On Friday 25 April, our School Captains represented Mullum Primary School at the Dawn Service held at the Ringwood Clocktower, last Friday morning at 5:30am. It was lovely to see a few other Mullum PS students and their families in attendance.
Dates for your calendar
Please check out the "Dates for your Diary" section of the newsletter each fortnight for updated information about events and happenings at school. Each fortnight I mark new additions to the calendar with (NEW), making it easier to scan for new events to add to your calendar.
Golidlocks has been into Foundation!
Oh boy! Has Goldilocks made a mess in Foundation! As part of the fairytale story telling unit, Foundation students were surprised and shocked to see that Goldilocks had recently come to their classroom and broken a chair. Stop signs were also made to keep Goldilocks out of the classroom. Check out the new chairs designed and constructed by our Foundation students:
F.R.O.G's Launch
Do you love growing your own vegetables and sharing your harvest with others? There are other families at school who also love to this and are ready to launch a new opportunity to be involved in our school community. The FROG's launch is this Friday at 2:15. New boats and seats
Over the holiday period there was some maintenance work undertaken in the playground, with new boats and seats installed. The Junior School Council completed fundraising in 2024 with our Colour Run raising money for new seats around the playground, which were installed during the Easter holiday period. The new boats were donated to the school by friends of Mullum Primary and have replaced an older boat. Check out these happy sailors and the comfy chairs for two:
Junior School Council are happy!
We gathered together all Junior School Council members from the last three years who came up with the idea of the benches (2023), raised money for the benches (2024) and then finally they are installed (2025). Congratulations and well done JSC!
