NORTHERN PENINSULA DIVISIONAL SWIMMING CARNIVAL RESULTS
On Wednesday, our school swim team of 20 students participated in the Northern Peninsula Divisional carnival at YAWA in Rosebud. They have been training hard every Monday and Thursday mornings as their hard work and commitment has paid off with excellent results at this level.
A special thank you to Lincoln who filled in at the last minute so the 12/13 Boys relay team could compete; very much appreciated by me, Lennox, Mason and Josh.
Congratulations and well done to the following students:
10 Years Girls
- Amelia H - 1st Backstroke
10 Years Boys
- Tom Z – 3rd Breaststroke
- Xavier K – 1st Backstroke
- Grayden K - 1st Breaststroke
- Freestyle relay mixed – (Amelia, Tom, Xavier, Grayden) – they swam beautifully, but unfortunately one of the change overs was early and so they were disqualified. If you have watched the Olympics, this can happen to the top swimmers. Nerves and inexperience often plays a part. Although disappointed, they all bounced back and placed in their individual events.
11 Years Girls
- Mackenzie M – 5th Freestyle
- Ellie B - 4th Backstroke
- MJ K – 2nd Breaststroke
- Freestyle relay – (Mackenzie, Ellie, MJ, Sophie S) – 2nd
11 Years Boys
- Emerson M - 2nd Freestyle, 2nd Backstroke
- Ethan M – 2nd Breaststroke
- Freestyle relay – (Emerson, Ethan, Mason, Byron K) – 1st
12/13 Years Girls
- Georgia Z – 4th Freestyle, 3rd Backstroke
- Sailor G – 2nd Backstroke
- Freestyle relay – (Georgia, Sailor, Abby, Skye R) – 1st
12/13 Years Boys
- Freestyle relay – (Lennox T, Mason M, Josh A, Lincoln J) - 3rd
Girls Open Medley Relay – (Sailor, MJ, Georgia, Abby) – 3rd
11 students will now be competing at the Regional competition on Wednesday - the 11 Years Boys and 12/13 Years Girls relay teams and Grayden, Xavier and Amelia in their individual events. The level of competition at this level is extremely high; we wish them all the best and are already proud of their achievements thus far.
Once again, a big thank you to all the parents who transported their child/ren and have support me and the swimmers throughout the term.
