Preservice Teachers and Work Experience Students (secondary school)
At Langwarrin Park Primary School, we highly value and actively support the development of preservice teachers, fostering an environment of growth, collaboration, and hands-on learning to prepare them for successful careers in education. We also deeply value our strong relationship with local secondary schools, warmly welcoming back past students for work experience and VET learning opportunities, enriching both their development and our school community.
All preservice teachers and work experience students are given a thorough induction where our ‘Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy’ and ‘Child Safe Code of Conduct’ are explained and a copy of both is given for their own records. Both preservice and work experience students are then required to sign and hand in the ‘Child Safe Code of Conduct’. Our ‘Child Safe Code of Conduct’ outlines the expected behaviour for anyone interacting with children and young people at our school, including preservice and work experience students, and they are required to adhere to this Code of Conduct. Any breeches to the code of conduct are immediately investigated and dealt with in accordance with the policy.
LPPS backs on to a number of streets-enabling a range of parking choices:
NORTHGATEWAY-the front of the school, has a KISS and GO section and further down the hill is parking
JACKSON DRIVE- has parking and a school gate that feeds out to it.
GREEN LANEWAYS- at the back of the oval, to the right, is a laneway which connects with Burgess Drive where there is ample parking. If you go straight ahead from the back of the oval, there are laneways that connect all of the courts
SCHOOL SITE.
Parking inside the school gates
-Straight ahead-is for staff only during the hours of 8am to 5pm.
-Parking for parents using the swim school for their lesson is to the right inside the gates.
SOME POINTS TO NOTE:
-Council parking officers roam on a regular basis
-Be mindful of parking time limits—some are KISS and GO
-Look carefully at signs in the courts
SAFETY IS IMPORTANT:
-Double parking is illegal—students should not be enticed to cars through parked cars, nor should they exit a double-parked car to get to the school gate.
-The safest side for students to exit/enter cars are the SAFE side which is the side aligned with the curb. If their seat is on the other side of the car, you should still encourage them to exit curb side or assist them to get safely from the
