Good luck to all students involved in SSATIS Basketball or Tennis finals next week. At this stage, with one week of fixtures to go, Team sVc should be represented in 2nd Grade, Year 7 Div 2, Year 8 Div 2, Year 9 Div 1, and with some tight battles to make finals in a few other year groups and divisions.
Team sVc has also made the semi-finals in the 1st Grade Tennis roster with a very young team, spearheaded by Year 9 student athlete Charlie Marsden.
Charlie has been in red-hot form of late, qualifying to compete in the 2025 Australian Clay Court Championships in the U14 Boys competition being held 12-17 April in Canberra. Charlie has also been selected in the state team to represent Tasmania at the upcoming Pizzey Cup, 3-10 May in Bendigo, Victoria. The Pizzey Cup is a prestigious national schools tennis championship open to girls and boys aged 18 and under. The Pizzey Cup provides secondary school students with the opportunity to represent their state, in teams of eight players, and compete against the best players from other states across Australia. Well done, Charlie, and we wish you all the best in the upcoming tournaments.
Team sVc will also be represented at the following championships and tournament during the upcoming school holidays.
We wish all of our athletes the best. Further reports and updates will appear on the College's Sport Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/svcsport
