They focus on developing a variety of skills in preparation for the opening of the Café 3021 in Term 2, using their literacy and numeracy knowledge to also prepare healthy snacks and lunches. Students work on developing the variety of skills required when working in a busy kitchen including Learning to use kitchen equipment Safely, Teamwork, Communication and Problem Solving.
Travel Training also plays an important part in developing the skills of Independence, Planning and Organising and Self-Management. Students have focused on getting to know the local community by visiting fresh food markets, libraries and the city. These activities give our students authentic situations where they are able to put into practice the learning and understandings that they are gaining throughout their school journey.

Travel Education
Every Friday 11/12D and 11/12E participate in the travel training program with great enthusiasm. The students enjoy voting on our destinations and helping to plan our journeys.
Over a two-year period, students will experience using trains, trams and buses to visit a variety of places. Students learn to use public transport in a safe, respectful and responsible manner. We practice real-life problem-solving skills to support students to know how to manage unexpected changes when travelling via public transport. It is our favourite day of the week!
