14 Gold Cricket

14 Gold Cricket gave an incredible performance in their Grand Final on Saturday, ultimately losing in a very close game that came down to the last over. Despite the tough result, the team should be incredibly proud of the progress they made throughout the season, both as individuals and as a cohesive unit. The camaraderie they displayed, especially on such a big day, was truly heartwarming. It was also fantastic to see the parents out there, fully engaged in the excitement—cheering every ball, and creating a fun, supportive atmosphere with their barbeque. It’s moments like these that highlight what sport is all about! Well done to all involved.

Winter Season

A reminder that Winter season trials continue this week and that we have internal trials on Saturday. All boys should be in SPC training gear at all trials.

We then have the Black and Green Shield on Saturday 5 April where all Rugby, Football and Tennis will play Trinity Grammar.

Swimming

Last Tuesday saw the end of the Swimming season with the ISA Carnival and there were some very strong individual performances. Congratulations to Swimming Captain Jack Taylor, who set a new 50m Freestyle record of 23.84 seconds, breaking a record that had been in place since 2011, he won the 50m Butterfly where he was 0.07 seconds off breaking the record for that event, and also won the 100m Freestyle. Sebastian Natalegawa won the 13 years 50m Freestyle, 50m Backstroke, 50m Butterfly and came second in the 50m Breaststroke. Special mention also to our Senior Relay Team who came third in the Freestyle Relay. Congratulations to all swimmers who gave their all throughout the season and represented SPC very well.

Also, thank you to the Year 11 cohort were there in support as per tradition and were cheering the house down for any SPC swimmers that they witnessed.
