Dinosaur Discoveries in Prep/Grade One!
Over the past three weeks, our Prep/Grade One students have been on an exciting journey back in time, exploring the fascinating world of dinosaurs!
Students have been learning about the different types of dinosaurs and how they can be grouped based on what they eat. We discovered that Herbivores eat only plants. Carnivores eat only meat. Omnivores eat both plants and meat.
- To make our learning even more engaging, we have been cooking meals that match the diets of these different dinosaurs. This week, we became omnivores ourselves by making ham and pineapple pizzas—just like an omnivore dinosaur would enjoy!
It has been a hands-on and delicious way to learn about the diets of dinosaurs, and our students have loved every moment. Stay tuned for more prehistoric adventures in our classroom!
Dino-Mite Adventures in Learning!
Our integrated studies unit on Dinosaurs came to an exciting end this week—and what a prehistoric journey it has been! Over the past few weeks, our students have been diving deep into the world of dinosaurs, learning all about the features, diets, and habitats of these fascinating creatures.
To celebrate the final day of our unit, students went on a dinosaur safari! With magnifying glasses in hand and curious minds switched on, they searched high and low to find dinosaurs based on their features—grouping them as carnivores, herbivores, or omnivores. It was a fun and engaging way to consolidate all the learning they’ve done about dinosaur characteristics and eating habits.
The excitement didn’t stop there! In a creative (and tasty!) twist, students used pancakes and fruit to design their very own dinosaurs. They thought carefully about what kind of dinosaur they were making and explained whether it was a carnivore, herbivore, or omnivore based on the features they included in their delicious designs.

Wow. What a massive day the Campaspe Cluster Cross Country was. Despite the extreme weather, our kids put their hearts into the races and gave them everything they had. Congratulations to the students that received ribbons and big thanks to the staff and parents for coming and making the day so successful. Go Raywood!!
Art with Miss Lehre
This week in Art, the Prep and Grade 1 students made their own playdough. They enjoyed measuring, mixing, and creating different colours. Next week, they will use this playdough in their Maths lessons to explore and learn about 2D and 3D shapes.

We looked at all the Inmags today in class. Students loved the minions, and some created their own. This is a fabulous magazine, full of articles, pictures, photos, puzzles, facts, recipes and loads of other things all submitted by kids. https://www.theinmag.com.au/ If your person would like to submit any work, use the above link to access their website where there are very simple steps to follow.
The older students completed their Ten Word Tiny Tales. These are in the classroom to be enjoyed by all!
