Division & Regional Swimming

Last week was an action-packed week with Interschool swimming. 

Monday, 17 March was the Knox Division Swimming Carnival in Croydon. 

Park Ridge had 19 swimmers compete on the day – our best result in my 10 years at Park Ridge. Students who finished in the top 2 then progressed to the Eastern Metropolitan Regional Championships on Friday, 21 March, where we had 6 relay teams compete, showing great depth across the year levels!

Under 10 Boys Relay team of Josh K, Henry S, Caelan G and Logan R - 4th Place

Open Boys Medley team of Mitchell L, Charlie W, Robbie K and Logan R - 3rd place

Under 10 Girls Relay team of Sophia K, Mackenzie D, Indie T and Jacinta L - 2nd Place, who then finished 8th at Regionals with a new school record of 3 minutes, 6 seconds.

Under 11 Boys Relay team of Robbie K, Zach P, Lewis C and Ryan J - 2nd place, who then finished 11th at Regionals

Under 11 Girls Relay team of Olivia W, Ava Z, Asha R and Erica S - 2nd place, who then finished 15th at Regionals

Open Girls Medley team of Savannah S, Ava Z, Olivia W and Sophia K - 2nd place, who then finished 12th at Regionals.

We also had a number of students compete in individual events:

Ava Z 4th in freestyle

Savannah S 4th in backstroke

Olivia W 3rd in breaststroke and 4th in backstroke

Mitchell L 3rd in butterfly and 2nd in Freestyle and 11th at Regionals

Logan R - 2nd in Butterfly and then 14th at Regionals. Also 2nd in backstroke and then 5th at Regionals with a new school record of 46.01 seconds

Robbie K – 1st in Breaststroke and then 5th at Regionals with a new school record of 45.86 seconds. Also 1st in Butterfly and then 9th at Regionals with a new school record of 42.81 seconds

Sophia K – 1st in Butterfly and then 7th at Regionals with a new school record of 43.57 seconds. Also 1st in Freestyle and then 3rd place at Regionals, earning a medal for her efforts and a new school record of 36.49 seconds.

Well done to all swimmers, some outstanding results there and we are all very proud of you.
