Hello from Grade 2J

Literacy

We have learned to spell some words that end in "y" and "ey", such as "funny" and "monkey", and also have added three new words to our tricky word tree: alright, always, said. We have also read through the heartwarming story of "The Stone Lion". It has been great to see everyone bringing back their filled-in home readers.

Mathematics

We have started the term by recalling and practicing our doubles and near-doubles facts in addition! We have particularly enjoyed playing "doubles connect 4" with partners:

Athletics Day

All students had so much fun at athletics day on Tuesday. Thank you to all the parent helpers and to all the students of 2J for giving it their absolute best!

Anzac Day

With ANZAC Day approaching this Saturday, students have been learning about the significance of ANZAC and the sacrifices made by those who have served our country. Through a range of storybooks and discussions, they have developed a deeper understanding of the importance of this day. As part of our ANZAC assembly on Friday, students also created a commemorative wreath to honour those who have served.
