The Season of Easter
It is the Season of Easter, this season runs for 50 days, from Easter Sunday through to the celebration of Pentecost.
The Easter Season is a time when we celebrate with joy the resurrection of Jesus, welcome the new life and hope we find in Jesus' rising, and engage with others in peace.
The season of Easter will be celebrated in the classrooms by observing and discussing the ways in which the new life of Easter is evident in our community, and how we can be Easter people.
Keep an eye out for some resources that will be sent home. You are invited to use these at home to reflect on this season of Easter between now and Pentecost (May 24th).
Project Compassion - Thank you
Thank you for the generous support the St. Therese's School community has shown towards the Project Compassion Appeal. Once again, we truly 'united against poverty' raising a total of $3,904.85 for Caritas Australia.
The students engaged enthusiastically with the learning and solidarity experiences exploring the situation of people living in poverty around the world and the call of Jesus to respond to their needs.
The winning class of the Project Compassion line competition was Junior 2 Drum with a 27.7 metre line of coins!
We pray for the Sacramental Candidates for Confirmation and Eucharist
A number of students have begun their preparations to receive the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist through the Parish Based Sacramental Program. Over the course of the next 6 weeks, they will participate in preparation sessions where they will engage with a new curriculum, and weekend Masses where the local community can pray for them.
We join with the student's family, and the parish community in praying for the students as they prepare to receive these special Sacraments of Christian Initiation. May this be a time of spiritual growth and understanding.
A new Bishop for Sandhurst
During the last week of the school holidays, Pope Leo XIV appointed a new Bishop to the Diocese of Sandhurst. Bishop René Ramirez will be installed as the Ninth Bishop of Sandhurst in July.
We pray for Bishop Rene Ramirez as he makes the transition to Bishop of Sandhurst.
