Weclome Back
Welcome back to to Term 2 everyone. We have a very busy and exicting term ahead. With lots to look forward to throughout the term. Soon the weather will begin to change and it's important that students maintain their stamina and health to ensure they make it all the way through the 10 weeks of learning. This involves good sleep, good eating habits and regular exercise.
Bike and E-Scooter Safety: Riding Smart Every Day
With more students riding bikes and e-scooters to and from school, it’s important that we all play our part in keeping our roads and paths safe. Riding is a great way to stay active, have fun, and reduce traffic around our school—but safety always comes first.
Helmet First, Every Ride
Wearing a properly fitted helmet is one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect against serious head injuries. Helmets are required by law for both bike and e-scooter riders, and they should be securely fastened every time you ride.
Know the Rules
Students should follow all road and path rules, including:
E-scooters have additional rules, including age restrictions and where they can be used, so families are encouraged to check local guidelines together.
Be Seen, Be Safe
Bright or reflective clothing helps riders stay visible, especially in low light. If riding early in the morning or later in the afternoon, make sure your bike or scooter has working lights.
Stay Alert
Avoid distractions like mobile phones or wearing headphones while riding. Being aware of your surroundings helps prevent accidents and keeps everyone safe.
Respect Others
Paths are shared spaces. Always give way to pedestrians, use a bell or voice to let others know you’re approaching, and ride courteously.
Parents and Carers
Please take time to talk with your children about safe riding habits and check that their bikes and scooters are well maintained, with working brakes and properly inflated tyres.
By working together, we can ensure that riding to school remains a safe, enjoyable option for everyone in our community.
Happy and safe riding!
