Parents' voice

We hope that everyone enjoyed the Father’s Day Breakfast at CJC today.  There have been so many events on in Term 3. These events do not happen without a lot of planning and energy from our community. We can can see from the long list of co-ordinators and volunteers that we are lucky to have such a wonderful community supporting the School and our children. 

 

Now for the long list of Thanks-you: The PC would especially like to thank the wonderful preparation team Marni Baker, Mathew Thompson and Inna Shteinberg. An extra special thank you to Di Holuigue (Grandmother of Billy and Charlie Baker) and Ronnie of The French Kicthen for welcoming us to your kitchen and making so many batches of scrambeled egg! Thank you to our team on the day: Sussananh Sandie, Emma Prideaux, Inna Shteinberg, Tania Lefort, Lynda-Rose Chapeyama, Julia Yuncken, Beth Sackville, Angela Ong and Sue Mennie.  We also appreciated the door prize donated by Palace Cinemas care of Natalie Lipton. 

 

We also hope that everyone who attended the Stargazing last week had a wonderful evening – we heard that Saturn was extraordinary. The PC would like to thank Mr Lewis, Akshat Tanksale, Joseph Chang, Anne Barthelemy, Alexis Drago, Luis Elneer and Alex Leahy for their expertise and time to arrange the event. 

 

Finally, the PC would like to thank the organisers of the Father’s Day Stall last week: Valeria Green, Penny Small and Marcella Wilder. We had lots of volunteers on the day too: Dani Goldman, Sue Mennie, Emilie Mayeux, Hayley Bacher, Celine Pierron, Pierre Patole, Marie Sassoon, Angela Ong, Dafna Garfield-Morvay, Keren Loyer, Yael Rath, Sarah Hinchliffe, Noa Bleichman Rose, Mirana Ramialison, Berengère Peignoux, Luz Bacaicoa, Aurelie Roberts, Kate Warshall, Brigitta Pesochinsky, Julia Lindner, Swapna Garge, Anna Pink, Marajan Romeo, Beatriz Pereira, Julia Yuncken and Adeli Pari. 

 

School Arts Festival, 7 September 2.00 – 7.00: The Arts Festival is next Friday from 2pm – 7pm. The PC has arranged some food truck to come to the School so that families can enjoy a meal and a snack while they enjoy the activities and performances.  A HUGH thank-you to Mathew Thompson for arranging the food trucks – it was no small feat. We are pleased to advise that we will have the following food trucks at the school: 

  1. The Pita Man (kosher): Menu: vegetarian pita pockets: $13, Small chips: $5: Drinks $3.  
  2. Frenchcheese: Menu: Raclette cheese, pickles & Potatoes $15; Raclette cheese, pastrami pickles & Potatoes $17
  3. Crepes for Change: Menu: Savory crepe various: $12; sweet crepes: $9
  4. Melbourne Woodfired Pizzas: Woodfired margarita: $15; All other pizzas $18

 

Friday Treats: Pains au Chocolate from Reverie café will be offered for $4 each.

 

Term 4: Hold the Date

 

The Voice to Parliament Referendum, Saturday, 14 October:  The School has been selected as a polling station for the historic “Voice to Parliament” Referendum. The PC plans to hold a fundraising BBQ and cake stall. Save the Date. 

 

End of Year Party, 1 December 2023 3.30 – 6.30: Please hold the date for the End of Year Party on Friday, 1 December. 

 

Silent Auction, 1 December 2023:  We will run our popular silent auction again cumulating at the End of Year Party– last year the auction and bike raffle raised $9000 for the school and this year we have even  bigger plans. If you have something that you could donate for the auction please get in touch. For example: food items, drinks, art, gym class passes, professional or artistic services, use of a holiday house, meal at a cafe or restaurant, lawnmowing/gardening services, babysitting, etc…
