Werribee Zoo Excursion

This term, our focus in Integrated Studies has been Living Things. Throughout the term, children have been investigating the basic needs for survival of animal and humans, and how their senses help them stay alive.

To support this unit of work, Foundation children will have the opportunity to attend an excursion to the Werribee Open Range Zoo on Tuesday 12 September.

This program promotes learning through exploration, self-managed risk, discovery and observation. Students will uncover how living things grow, change and survive in nature.

While at the zoo, students will explore Habitat Haven using their senses and open-ended play-based activities and tour the zoo on the Safari Bus. The tour includes live commentary from a Safari Guide as we move through the grasslands of Asia, North America and Africa, spotting bison, antelope, rhino, zebra and ostrich.

This is the Foundation student’s major excursion for the year. A permission was sent home last week. Please ensure payment is made and permission form is returned as soon as possible.
