DIVISION BASKETBALL

On Wednesday 23rd August, selected students from Year 5/6 travelled to Selkirk Stadium to represent Miners Rest PS in the division basketball competition. 

We were lucky enough to have four teams represent our school which were divided into two girls teams and two boys teams. Throughout the tournament, teams competed in five 18-minutes matches against a mix of other Ballarat Primary Schools. 

All students that came represented our school with pride and great sportsmanship. 

Teams had varied success throughout the day but all agreed it was a great day out. 

A huge thankyou to our Parent Helper/Coach Krystal Fisher for taking care of the Girls A team and also to the students from Mount Rowan and Ballarat High School that came to coach and referee matches. Thank you also to the parents who came to support. 

EUREKA DIVISION ATHLETICS

Next Tuesday, 5th September, Miners Rest have 35 students representing our school in numerous athletic events including throwing, jumping and running events. All students have performed exceptionally well to progress through to this level and we wish all of our athletes the very best of luck.

A reminder that students will need to meet in the gym no later than 8:30am to ensure students receive their athletics tops and arrive ready for the first event.

SPECIAL STUDENT ACHIEVEMENTS

Indi's Calisthenics achievements for 2023 

Earlier this year, Indi represented Studio Arc Dance School in the Victorian Calisthenics Solo season. She performed a Calisthenics Solo, Graceful Solo and a Duo with her close friend Poppi. Indi had an extremely successful year being awarded in all of her performance including 1st place for her Calisthenics Solo and her Duo at the Victorian State Championships making her the State Champion. 

Indi is a dedicated and hard working dancer who has been rewarded for her efforts.
