Principal Report
Principal Message – Week 10 Term 3
As we approach the conclusion of Term 3, it's a fitting moment to pause and celebrate the remarkable achievements of our students, both individually and collectively.
While we reflect on these accomplishments, we also cast our gaze toward the future, where we are committed to securing our long-term success through the realization of our school masterplan. This comprehensive plan includes the much-anticipated refurbishment of our school playground, with a particular focus on the netball and basketball courts. The exciting news is that we are on track to secure the necessary funding for this renovation project. The end result will be a thoroughly modernized and inviting learning environment, benefiting both our students and staff, along with top-tier sporting facilities that will offer our children abundant opportunities to enjoy their athletic pursuits right here at the school.
In light of these developments, it is with great pride that we recognize the outstanding achievement of our netball team this term, who made it all the way to the State Championships. Our heartfelt congratulations go out to the team and their dedicated coach, Jane Dixon, for this remarkable feat.
Looking ahead to term 4, we eagerly await supporting our Year 6 girls' basketball team as they advance to the next level at the District finals in October. Additionally, we have a team of 24 children participating in the Beachside Athletics competition after their success at the HOLT Districts earlier this month.
Turning our attention to 2024, our school stands on solid ground, both financially and in terms of enrolments. I am pleased to report that we are approaching record numbers for Prep 2024 enrolments, and we have already begun accepting enrolments for 2025 and 2026. Our strategic marketing efforts, coupled with a robust presence on social media, have significantly raised the profile of "our little school with a big heart" within the community. This positions us for continued growth and prosperity as we move into 2024 and beyond.
As we conclude this eventful term, it's important to recognize the value of taking a break from our routines. This time of respite is not only refreshing but also invigorating, preparing us for the challenges that lie ahead. I extend my warmest wishes to all of you for a relaxing and enjoyable two-week break and eagerly anticipate your return at the start of Term 4, which promises to be, as always at St. Columba's, an exciting and enriching time.
