From the Principal

It is great to be back after a refreshing period of leave. I spent a good part of Monday and Tuesday visiting all parts of the school catching up with staff and students. As always, the classrooms were a hive of activity with students well engaged and happy to have some warmer weather. My thanks to Kylie Virgo for so ably leading the School for the past five weeks and Jaquie Fisher for her fine work in the Dean of Pastoral Care role. I am pleased that both staff members enjoyed the experience.
Congratulations to Director Rhiannon Thomas, Arts staff, cast and crew for a wonderful season of the musical, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. I thoroughly enjoyed the lively production which involved students from Years 7 to 12 and Ms Thomas's golden retriever whose stage appearances were accompanied by treats and a wagging tail! Thank you to the school community who always support our productions with great commitment and enthusiasm.
In further Arts news, a new mural entitled Discover Your Passion is taking shape at the entrance to Arts Lane in the Secondary School. The students are working with aerosol paint under the guidance of artist Lawry Halden. Once completed, the façade of the Juniper and Morgan art studios will be transformed.
This week has concluded with the Primary Athletics Carnival. House spirit is always to the fore at this event and I thoroughly enjoyed spectating and speaking to parents and students.
Have a relaxing weekend
