YEAR 1 SPOTLIGHT

Busy Bees in the Hive

There sure has been a buzz around Year 1 the past few weeks.

In Geography we were lucky enough to have Mrs Daley as our guest teacher; teaching us about Japan. Mrs Daley even taught us some Japanese greetings and she wrote our names in Japanese, which we thought was pretty cool.

We thoroughly enjoyed dressing up for Book Week and our visit to the town library; have a look at our fabulous costumes.  Don't be jelly of the Year 1 Teachers' costumes!

Today we went on our excursion to Farrer Agricultural High School and Botanical Gardens, we are sure there will be lots of recounts of our excursion talking around the dinner table tonight.

YEAR 5 GRADE SPOTLIGHT

We have had a busy couple of weeks in Year 5, supporting our Australian Women’s Soccer Team – The Matildas and having a guest touch football coach for sport.

We have also had d the Sloth visit 2 out of the 3 classes and he has had so much fun hanging out with us. He has taught us a few things:

1.      Take your time

2.      Get a grip on things

3.      Relax often

4.      Hang out a lot

5.      Get plenty of sleep

6.      Let things roll off you

7.      SLOW DOWN

The Year 5 teachers arrived at school dressed up as Superheros for our Cold Write and we even got Super Lollipops to go with the theme. There were some interesting and intense stories written and I am sure it kept the teachers entertained.

We had the privilege of helping our Year 1 buddies with art as well as reading to them during Book Week. We can’t believe they are almost finished Year 1, they grow up so fast.

We also made our way to the Town Library where we saw interesting art pieces, looked at all the book winners of 2023 and even made a paper helicopter. Overall it has been a great couple of weeks.
