Year 3/4 News 

WRITING

Students were excited to begin our Information Text unit this term. Each student has selected an Australian animal to research and create an informative report about. Over the past fortnight, they have been busy investigating their animal’s description, diet, habitat, Indigenous name, life cycle, predators and other interesting facts. We are also learning how to summarise and rephrase information in our own words to make our reports clear and original. We can't wait for you to see their published piece! 

INDIGENOUS STUDIES

This term in Inquiry, students have been learning about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures. They explored traditional symbols used in storytelling and created their own artwork stories using these symbols. Students also learned about the First Fleet and discussed why it’s important to learn about the past, to understand history, show respect and help build a more connected future.
