History

In our Rotations History unit, we are inquiring into our family histories. We have been exploring what makes a family and how family members connect through the creation of our own family tree. We have quickly discovered just how big some family trees can grow and that no two families are the same.  

READING

This week we have been digging deep into the characters and settings of the narratives we read. We have been noticing what the characters are like on the "outside". eg beautiful, rich, sporty.... and what they are like on the "inside" eg brave, kind, snobby, mean.

WRITING

This week we have visited our Grade 6 buddies to research information, as the buddies will be the main character in our next Narrative. We have been learning how to write a Sizzling Start to capture our readers attention. This may include; onomatopoeia, dialogue, action and many adjectives.

Once the Buddy narrative is written, illustrated and published, the Preps are excited to gift their book to their buddies. 

MATHS

In maths we have been revisiting 2D and 3D shapes.
