Year 5 Leadership Retreats

Year 5 has had an incredible time stepping into the world of leadership through two inspiring retreat experiences designed to help our students grow in confidence, teamwork, and positive influence.

Our first retreat was led by Cameron Brown from Explore Discover Act, whose energy and powerful storytelling had our students completely engaged from start to finish. Through hands-on challenges, reflection activities, and team-building games, students explored what it truly means to be a leader - someone who acts with empathy, courage, and purpose. Cameron encouraged our students to get curious about leadership, step outside their comfort zones, and embrace the idea of making a difference for and with others. The messages were uplifting, practical, and deeply meaningful for our Year 5 cohort.

The second retreat: 'How to Lead Like Jesus Did' was hosted by James Sheahan Catholic High School, where our students further expanded their leadership toolkit. Staff and Year 9  students guided Year 5 through collaborative workshops focused on communication, responsibility, and the importance of serving their school community with integrity. It was also a wonderful opportunity for our students to connect with older role models and experience a taste of high-school life in a supportive environment.

Across both retreats, our Year 5 students showed maturity, enthusiasm, and a genuine commitment to becoming positive leaders in 2026. We are incredibly proud of the way they represented our school and embraced every challenge with open hearts and open minds.

We cannot wait to see our emerging leaders shine as they step into their leadership roles next year!
