Message from the Principal

Cecilia Parada

We are thrilled to announce that after much anticipation, the school oval has been completely returfed and now features brand-new drainage! A huge thank you to the School Infrastructure team for making this fantastic upgrade possible.

To give the new grass the very best chance to take root and flourish, the oval will be closed to all students for the remainder of this term. We know it’s tough to wait, but the good news is that the oval will be ready and open for everyone to enjoy starting next year!

Thank you for your patience and understanding—our brand-new oval will be worth the wait!

Classes 2026

At this time of the year, we start planning our classes and staffing for the next school year. Our dedicated teachers engage in a thoughtful process to create balanced classes, taking into account student needs, available resources, and the overall dynamics of the classroom. This approach helps ensure that each child benefits from a variety of teaching styles and experiences, enhancing their educational progress.

Please note that in some cases, composite classes (a mix of different grades) may be necessary. These classes can provide valuable opportunities for collaboration and peer learning, allowing students to thrive in a diverse learning environment.

We understand that each child has unique needs, and we are happy for you to share any factors you believe should be considered when forming classes for the next year. If you have specific requests or considerations, please feel free to reach out to me. You may email the school, note ‘Attention Miss Parada’. While we cannot guarantee specific placements, we will do our best to accommodate your input. Please let me know by Friday 28 November.

2026 student enrolment survey

To assist with planning for staffing and classes, all our families are asked to indicate whether or not their child will be continuing their education at Meadowbank Public School in 2026 or starting later than Monday 2 February 2026.

Please complete this form: https://forms.gle/5XESoXLtdAEjc7Dc8 by Friday 14 November 2025. Please fill out one form per child. This is not necessary for any student in Year 6 (2025).

The form asks you to inform us whether your child will be continuing at our school in 2026 or starting later than the first day of school (Monday 2 February 2026). Some families know that they are moving to another suburb, state or country in 2026, or they may be applying for leave due to travel. We need accurate numbers as the NSW Department of Education will staff schools on the actual number of students enrolled. It is critical we know this information now so that our planning for classes in 2026 can be better informed and we will be able to form classes sooner at the start of the school year.

If you have any difficulty completing this form, please contact the school office 9809 3648.

If your child is starting later than Monday 2 February 2026, please ensure you apply for a Certificate of Extended Leave. This ensures that your child is counted in the enrolments and assigned a class.

We appreciate your trust in our school and look forward to another successful school year. Our priority is to provide the best educational experience for your child, and we believe that this collaborative process will help us achieve that goal.

A special thank you

A special thank you goes to Carter (4L) for donating a lovely 3/4 violin to the school!

Compulsory school attendance

Days missed = years lost

A day here and there doesn't seem like much, but when your child misses just 1 day per week, they miss 8 weeks per year and over 2.5 years over their school life.
