Class 3 News

ELLA MCHENRY

Class 3 has recently finished a math's Main Lesson on Money and Trade. This has been a fantastic hands-on learning experience for everyone. We made our own currency called Quazjeks with three different coins and held a market selling items made by students (using our currency). Grounding this experience of appraising value and exchanging goods using items students have made connects money with human work and natural materials. We also learning about Australian coins and notes and different ways to represent the same amount of money. In Week 3 we spent a couple of afternoons baking – thanks everyone for your support of our cake stall and for all your small change! It was a great opportunity for Class 3 to practice working out how much change to give while working under pressure. Handling money is also a great way to consolidate knowledge of our Base 10 maths system. Plus we raised about $350!

Thanks to all the parents who came along to the meeting in Week 3. It is great to get you all together so we can work as a class community to support all students.

Swimming lessons are off to a great start, and I have been enjoying listening to the Class practice their whole class strings pieces with Liam.

Keep up the great practice and don’t forget to bring your instruments into school each Tuesday.

Thanks!
