Class 8 & 9 News
DAN GERICH
As we head into our final term, it’s hard to believe this will be our last newsletter for the year! It’s been a wonderful journey, and the class has much to celebrate as we approach the end of 2025.
We’re thrilled to share that our German exchange students for our Year 9 students have arrived and are settling in beautifully. To welcome them, we spent three unforgettable days at Uluru and Kata Tjuṯa, showing them the real Australia — from breathtaking landscapes to meaningful cultural experiences. It was a truly special way to share the heart of our country.
In the classroom, our latest Main Lesson, Australian Literature, has inspired thoughtful discussion and creative expression. Students have been exploring iconic stories and voices from across Australia and are now preparing stage performances based on their studies — keep an eye out for our upcoming event!
Our Year 8 projects are also in full swing, with students preparing to present their hard work and passions at Presentation Night on Wednesday, 20 November. This is always a highlight of the year, showcasing the incredible growth and individuality of each student.
And to round things off, we’ll celebrate together at our End-of-Year Party on Wednesday, 27 November — a well-deserved chance to relax and enjoy each other’s company after a busy and rewarding year.
Oh, and let’s not forget our newest class member — our bearded dragon, who continues to amaze us with its calm charm and surprising maths genius skills!
It’s been a rich and memorable year full of learning, laughter, and community — thank you to all our parents and carers for your ongoing support and partnership.
Warm regards,
Dan
