DINA FIECK
At The Alice Springs Steiner School, we value the education of the whole child, head, heart and hands. Movement and physical activity are an important part of this, helping children grow in strength, coordination, and confidence.
Swimming is more than just learning strokes. It supports healthy development, builds courage, and helps children overcome challenges in a calm and trusting way. In the water, they learn rhythm, breath, balance, and persistence, all qualities that support learning in all areas of life.
For children growing up in Central Australia, being safe and confident around water is also an essential life skill. Providing swimming lessons ensures every child has this opportunity in a supportive and developmentally appropriate way.
Swimming, like all we do, helps our students meet the world with strength, joy, and confidence.
At the pool we are provided with three qualified swimming instructors, so swimming groups are small, and children have individual attention as needed. Today one of the instructors made a point of telling me that our children were very well behaved and responsive to their teaching.
This a credit to all parents and carers, thank you for supporting our program.
