CHS Open Girls Cricket Round 2 vs Tenterfield High School
On Tuesday, our IHS Open Girls Cricket Team (Hollie W, Milly M, Olivia S, Ali P, Olivia P, Emma C, Chelsea K, Jessica C and Megan S) faced Tenterfield HS in Round 2 of the CHS Knockout at Cameron Park, Inverell. Despite the scorching heat and playing with just 9 players, the team showed incredible determination. Hollie W led the charge with a brilliant 59, and the team posted a competitive total of 176 runs.
With the ball, Hollie W was outstanding, taking 3 wickets for just 5 runs and bowling 4 maidens! Ali P and Jessica C also made great contributions with 2 wickets each. It was a nail-biting match, with Tenterfield chasing hard but finishing on 125 runs after 30 overs. The highlight was Olivia S amazing run out on the very last ball, sealing a fantastic 51-run victory.
Every player got involved with both bat and ball, showing great teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the game. Special thanks to Mrs Mason for coaching our team, as well as Preston L and Jackson B for umpiring and Georgie L for scoring.
Our next match wil be against Coonabarabran on Thursday 30th October at Narrabri.
