Foundation News…

Welcome back to our Foundation families! We’ve had such an awesome start to Term 4, and it’s been wonderful seeing everyone return with big smiles and ready-to-learn attitudes. The students have settled back beautifully into classroom routines and are already showing great excitement for all the fun and learning ahead. . Take a look at what we’ve been learning so far and all the wonderful things happening in Foundation! 📚💛

In Maths, our Foundation students have been exploring place value, learning to recognise how many tens and ones make up two-digit numbers. Using tens frames has helped them visualise numbers in a hands-on and engaging way.

During Literacy, we’ve been working on the long vowel sound ‘ee’ and ‘ea’. Using our Reading and Spelling tools we have been practising those words, even finding some homophones!

In Writing, we’ve been learning how to make our sentences more interesting by adding conjunctions such as before and after. It’s been wonderful to see the students expanding their ideas and creating more detailed and creative sentences.

For Integrated Studies, we’ve started our new topic on weather, beginning with an introduction to the Indigenous Kulin seasons. The students have loved learning how different seasons are recognised and celebrated in Indigenous culture, helping us see the weather in a whole new way! 🌈✨
