Year 4 Spotlight

🏕️ Mount Evelyn Camp – A Camp to Be Proud Of
If we had to choose one word to describe our Mount Evelyn Camp, it would be “proud.”
We are proud of our students for their bravery, enthusiasm, and teamwork throughout the camp.
We are proud of our amazing parent helpers — Rebeka, Andrew B, Andrew M, Jana, Yuki, Laura, Thuy and Selinda — who went above and beyond to support our campers and staff. At one point there were three vacuums going after dinner time!
We are proud of Melbourne’s weather, which blessed us with perfect conditions for outdoor adventures.
And of course, we are proud of our teaching team for leading such a fun, safe, and successful experience for everyone.
Here are some snapshots and student reflections capturing the spirit of our unforgettable camp experience!

Heide’s Camp Reflection
On the 7th of October all the year 4s went on school camp. We all got to do different activities in activity groups with our friends. I liked all the activities, but my favourite was the 100m zipline.
At camp I was surprised about how well I got along with new people I didn’t know too well in my cabin and activity group. There were people in my cabin who I didn’t know too well, but we all still had a great time.
Next year when I go to camp the things I want to do differently are even if there is something I think could be bad or not as good as I would of wanted it to be, for example not being in an activity group or cabin with my friends, to give it a chance because it will end up being fine.
I think the purpose of the trip was to be independent and learn new things and of course to have fun with your friends.
School camp was so fun, and I can’t wait to go next year.
Tarquin’s camp reflection
We went to camp to challenge ourselves and practice being independent. At camp I really enjoyed ‘low ropes’/parkour and the ‘flying fox’. I liked low ropes because it felt like parkour to me. I also liked the flying fox because it was a 100m zipline that if you let go you’re always safe.
If I had the chance to go again I would play on ‘Risky Kids’ more often.
I noticed I was nervous about how the food would taste but when I tried it, it was delicious.
