School Council Report

September School Council Meeting
School Council met on Monday 15 September for the final meeting of term three. While it was a short term, it was certainly a busy one for our school community, and council members appreciated the opportunity to reflect on all that has taken place before the holidays.
There was strong positive feedback about ART FOR ALL, which showcased an enormous effort from staff and volunteers. The scope of this event is vast, and it simply wouldn’t be possible without so many community members giving their time and skills to bring it to life. Our sincere thanks go to everyone involved. Council noted the proposal that funds raised through ART FOR ALL contribute to the upcoming yard redevelopment.
Council also acknowledged the success of Special Person’s Day, held on Friday 12 September. With perfect weather and manageable coffee queues, it was a wonderful morning enjoyed by all. Thank you to Jennifer Clarke (parent) for once again organising this special event and to all who helped on the day.
The Finance Committee reported that the school’s finances remain in a healthy position, thanks to Jane (previous Business Manger) and Nia (current Business Manager) for their continued work refining the systems that support efficient financial management as evidenced through last term’s finance audit.
The Building and Grounds team confirmed that the Yard Redevelopment remains their key focus, with planning underway to stage the works in a way that minimises disruption to school life.
Council noted and/or approved the Duty of Careand First Aid policies, and discussed both the upcoming End of Year Picnic and safety at the Wingrove Street crossing.
We look forward to meeting again on Monday 20 October.
