Visual Arts

We ended Term 3 with some amazing creations from our talented students!
F/1 students used recycled cardboard, wool, PVA glue and paint to create striking colour-blocking artworks, each showcasing a wonderful variety of shapes and tones.
2/3 students transformed egg cartons, recycled cardboard and paint into imaginative animal portraits, which now look spectacular displayed on the art room wall for everyone to enjoy.
3–6 students began planning for our school’s 150-year celebrations, designing ideas for both the commemorative mural and their class canvases to be presented in Week 6.
As we started Term 4, all classes finalised their class canvas designs for the 150-year celebrations. The creativity and thoughtful planning behind each artwork have been truly inspiring!
In Week 2, we were extremely fortunate to welcome Elizabeth Barnett—a professional artist and parent at our school—into the art room. Elizabeth shared her artistic process across different mediums, discussed her finished pieces, and worked with students to help develop their class canvases.
Next up… painting the canvases! We can’t wait to see these amazing artworks come to life.
WE NEED YOU!
Mural painting - are you an artist or have you worked on painting murals before? Or would you simply love to help out? Are you great at screen writing? The mural is planning to be painted over these Wednesdays - 22nd Oct, 29th Oct, 5th Nov. Please contact myself or the office if you are available.
Special Thanks!
We are very lucky to have a wonderful artist, Libby Bourke who you might know from morning or after school care, volunteering her time in the art room. She brings her creative skills, fresh ideas, and kind support to help students explore their own artistic talents. Her guidance and encouragement make the art room an even more inspiring place to learn and create.
Get Involved!
We’d love your help in the art room! Whether it’s assisting during sessions, donating materials, or sharing your own creative skills, your involvement makes a big difference. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you're interested.
Thank you,
Felicity Brennan
