This term we mark the 50th anniversary of a significant milestone in the School's sporting history, when 28 of our students travelled to New Zealand in 1976 for the school’s first rugby tour since the amalgamation. The boys were away for 16 days and played a full schedule of five matches during the tour.
According to the coaches’ report, the team were outstanding ambassadors for the school, leaving all areas visited with a very favourable impression of Kinross Wolaroi School. The behaviour, attitude and bearing of the boys were of a very high standard, and numerous compliments were received, particularly in relation to their sportsmanship. Although the results were challenging- five losses and one draw, the boys played very well in all matches, displaying excellent defence throughout the tour. This pioneering experience would set the tone for many successful rugby tours to come.
