Niangala, Woolbrook, and Yarrowitch Public Schools Come Together for Life Education Van and Healthy Harold Visit
On Tuesday, 12 May 2026, students from Niangala Public School joined their peers from Woolbrook and Yarrowitch Public Schools for a special day of learning and fun at Woolbrook School, thanks to the Life Education Van and the ever-popular Healthy Harold.
The Life Education team delivered engaging programs focused on "Growing Good Friends" and "Friends & Feelings." These sessions encouraged students to explore the value of positive friendships and develop skills in understanding and managing their emotions. Through interactive discussions and activities, students learned how to support others, be kind, and navigate feelings in everyday situations.
Healthy Harold, the iconic giraffe mascot, helped make the event lively and memorable, ensuring all students left with new knowledge and a sense of connection. The Woolbrook P&C provided us with a huge amount of choice for morning tea. There were many return trips to fill up on all the goodies on offer!
The day was a wonderful opportunity for Niangala, Woolbrook, and Yarrowitch students to learn together, strengthen friendships, and promote well-being across their school communities. Thank you to Woolbrook School for hosting, and to the Life Education team for providing such an enriching experience

Green Thumbs and Cooking Crew
Garden Update: Spring Rolls and Surprises
On Friday, the Green Thumbs and Cooking Crew teamed up for a special project, creating delicious spring rolls using fresh vegetables harvested from our school garden. The Green Thumbs picked cabbages and spring onions, which they shared with the Cooking Crew. With these homegrown ingredients, the Cooking Crew whipped up a batch of tasty spring rolls for everyone to enjoy!
We also picked an extra three cabbages and three spring onions for the Ham, Partridge and Harry families, so they can make spring rolls at home. In addition, the Green Thumbs discovered a green, short, and spikey cucumber in the vegetable garden — a delightful surprise! This cucumber found its way home with the Turner family.
The Green Thumbs were busy in the garden, removing the hoops and netting over the cabbages as we plan what to plant next. They also turned the compost to keep it healthy and productive. To ensure our Vegepod keeps flourishing, we planted celery, spring onion and wombok seeds.
Everyone is now looking forward to enjoying the spring rolls for lunch!
