Game Changers Graduation 2026

On June 18, we celebrated the graduation of our Year 9 Game Changers students. It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the growth, achievements, and experiences of the group over the past six months.
Throughout the semester, students embraced a wide range of learning opportunities both inside and outside the classroom. Alongside their weekly mentoring sessions at Kismet Park, students visited Edgar's Mission, Little Stones Early Learning Centre in Romsey, the Quantum Forensic Centre and the Melbourne Escape Room. They also participated in Art Therapy sessions, developing valuable skills in self-expression, resilience and reflection.
As part of the Game Changers Literacy Program, students worked alongside Year 12 Vocational Major students to create and produce their own podcast. This authentic learning experience culminated in a visit to The Arts Centre Melbourne, where students had the opportunity to record their work in a professional studio environment. The confidence, collaboration and creativity displayed throughout the project was something they should all be proud of.
Most importantly, it has been a privilege to witness the personal growth of every student in the program. Over the semester, students formed new friendships, developed stronger connections with staff and peers, and demonstrated increasing confidence in advocating for themselves. They should be proud of their academic growth and their ability to discuss challenges and differing perspectives respectfully with the adults who support them, even when they do not always agree. This is an important life skill that will continue to serve them well throughout their years at Sunbury College and beyond.
As we celebrated their graduation, we also recognised that this graduating group marks the final Game Changers cohort, bringing a special chapter of Sunbury College's history to a close.
We would like to sincerely thank the many staff members who have contributed to the success of the program over the years. Their dedication, care and commitment have helped countless students build confidence, strengthen their connection to school and experience success. The positive impact they have had on the lives of young people will continue long after the program itself has concluded.
Congratulations to our graduating students. It has been an absolute pleasure watching each of you grow in your own way over the past six months. We are incredibly proud of all that you have achieved and look forward to seeing the continued success that lies ahead for each of you.
Kind regards,
