National Reconciliation Week at HSSC

HSSC proudly acknowledged National Reconciliation Week by inviting students and staff to wear a splash of yellow. This simple yet meaningful gesture was a way to recognise and show respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures.

The colour yellow holds special significance, representing the sacred ochre that has been used by First Nations peoples for generations. It symbolises a deep connection to Country, culture, and community.

It was wonderful to see our school community come together to support this important initiative and reflect on the ongoing journey of reconciliation. Through participation and awareness, we continue to build understanding, respect, and stronger relationships with First Nations peoples.

Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make this year's National Reconciliation Week a meaningful celebration at HSSC.
