Boarding
A highlight of the past fortnight was the annual Boarders Assembly, hosted by our Boarding Prefects. The assembly provided a wonderful opportunity for our girls to share with the wider school community what being a boarder means to them and the unique experiences that come with living away from home.
It was particularly special to hear from sisters Bea (Year 11) and Florence (Year 10), who spoke together about their journey into boarding and how they have settled into life in the house. They are one of five sets of sisters who call Fernbank their home away from home.
We also heard from two of our newest boarders, Arabella and Aerin in Year 7. They spoke with confidence and warmth about their transition to boarding and the kindness they have experienced from the older girls. Their words were a powerful reminder of the care, encouragement, and support that exist within our boarding community, helping younger students feel at home while away from their families.
The assembly was a wonderful celebration of the boarding experience and showcased the confidence, resilience and connection that our girls develop during their time in the house. I want to thank all of the students who spoke so thoughtfully and our Boarding Prefects for their leadership in organising the event.

Weekend Rec Activities
Strikes, Spares and Smiles at Strike Bowling
The Kambala Boarders recently enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon at Strike Bowling in Darling Harbour. For some girls, it was their very first time bowling, making the experience even more exciting. Strikes, spares, and plenty of gutter balls provided lots of laughs as the girls cheered one another on and embraced some friendly competition.
Following the bowling, the group headed to a boarding favourite; Yo-Chi at Barangaroo. Enjoying frozen yoghurt in the sunshine by the water, the girls took in the spectacular views of Sydney Harbour and the surrounding attractions, including SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium, Sydney Wildlife Park, and the colourful Vivid displays that will be lighting up the waterfront.
The outing was a wonderful opportunity for the girls to relax, connect, and create lasting memories together while exploring some of Sydney’s iconic attractions.

Fluro Night
The annual Year 7 Fluro Night was once again a wonderful success. Hosted by the Year 12 students, the evening provided an opportunity for our youngest students to spend time in the Year 12 area, enjoying pizza, creative craft activities, and plenty of laughter.
The event is designed to help build connections between year groups and strengthen the supportive relationships that make Kambala such a special community. Throughout the evening, the Year 12 students warmly welcomed the Year 7 girls, creating a relaxed and fun environment for everyone to enjoy.
Fluro Night is a fantastic example of Kambala's sisterhood in action. Watching the older girls mentor and encourage the younger students highlights the strong sense of belonging and community that exists within our school.
